What we did

Acting as principal contractor, CTEC Services coordinated all trades and delivered the works across 24-hour operations, split into two 12-hour shift patterns to reduce downtime.

The works included removing the existing shop fronts to create a larger, more inviting entrance, and reconfiguring back-of-house offices and storage areas to expand the retail sales space by 450sqft.

CTEC also installed a manual sliding shutter system with concealed housings, constructed a bespoke media wall and changing rooms, and carried out upgrades to lighting, power, data, and safety systems throughout the store.

Fire safety works included the installation of a new back-of-house fire wall, alongside sprinkler and fire alarm alterations, commissioning, and compliance checks.

The outcome

The completed refurbishment delivered a more open, engaging retail environment with increased sales space, improved infrastructure, and upgraded safety systems.

Through careful coordination and round-the-clock working, the project was completed on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to the live shopping centre.
