The refurbishment began with a full lighting upgrade, replacing over 500 fittings with energy-efficient LED panels, all controlled by a DALI dimming system.

CTEC managed and delivered all trades, including decoration, mechanical and electrical works, ventilation, air conditioning, fire alarm installation, flooring, plastering, and drylining.

new BMS system was engineered, along with a complete data centre installation to replace cabling removed by the previous owner.

Desk sockets were fitted at every workstation, while kitchens were stripped out and replaced with a new commercial kitchen.

Meeting rooms and changing facilities were also created, and pipework and plant were fully serviced.

As part of the project, a striking 9m x 4m digital LED screen was installed on the front of the building, showcasing AK Retail Group’s portfolio of brands.

The result is the highest-specification office space in the surrounding area, providing AK Retail Group with a modern, functional, and brand-led headquarters.

Delivered within the programme, the project has created a workplace designed to inspire staff and impress visitors, with energy efficiency and technology at its core.

CTEC continue to support the client with an ongoing maintenance contract, providing daily engineering cover across all four of their Peterborough premises, including three warehouses and two offices.
