The Brief
In February 2025, CTEC were appointed as the principal contractor for the complete shell and core fit-out of a 150m² pizza restaurant.
The client, taking their first step into self-employment, entrusted CTEC to deliver the project from initial concept through to building control sign-off.
With an eight-week programme and a strict budget, it was crucial that the works were delivered without variations.
To ensure the client felt fully supported throughout, daily progress catch-ups were held, offering transparency and reassurance at every stage of the journey.

What we did
The fit-out featured a number of specialist requirements, most notably an open kitchen that created challenges for the extraction system. With no permission to penetrate external walls due to the residential flats above, CTEC designed and installed a state-of-the-art recirculation unit, capable of filtering and releasing air completely odourless. Working closely with local authorities, approval was secured and the system was successfully integrated.
A bespoke 10-metre preparation unit formed the centrepiece of the kitchen, incorporating a 300kg marble slab chosen by the client to honour their Italian heritage and ensure authentic dough preparation.
Alongside this, a new HVAC system, including two A/C units and a heat recovery system, was installed to maintain a comfortable environment.
Lighting and electrics were designed with rustic surface-mounted conduits and track lighting, complementing the open ceiling aesthetic.
The outcome
The finished restaurant offers a striking open-plan dining and kitchen space, with additional facilities including a DDA-compliant toilet, cold store, and plant area.
Completed on time and within budget, the project reflects both the client’s vision and CTEC’s ability to deliver complex design solutions with precision.
The client’s first commercial venture was a success, and CTEC continue to provide ongoing maintenance support, ensuring the restaurant remains in excellent condition as it establishes itself in the local community.
